Mike Gallina Biography

For more than twelve years I have worked with technology as an artist, internet engineer, interface designer/art director, developer, motion graphics and video production artist and most recently as the CEO of my own design firm. Since becoming incorporated in May of 2009 I’ve launched two enterprise level web applications, www.baktrack.com, www.livestew.com and worked on numerous smaller projects. Prior to starting my own company I worked as a consultant designing and developing interactive media, animation, and video/ graphic production for Intel, The Food Network, HCTV, DraftFCB, Icon Nicholson  and several smaller companies. In addition to my career as an interactive media professional, I have five years of experience teaching adults design, animation, interactive media and programming at Parsons School Of Design, The Career Education Institute and Chubb Institute. I’ve also taught my passion, traditional Chinese martial arts to adults and children of all ages for the past four years.

My first experiences teaching began when I was 14 years old teaching basketball to elementary school children at my local YMCA. I continued teaching at the YMCA throughout high school and into my college years during summer vacations. Shortly after graduating from college I began teaching design and multimedia(as they called it in those days) After more than twenty years of experience teaching numerous topics to people of all ages and cultures, I’ve developed what I consider to be a uniquely quantified understanding of what it means to teach and how best to achieve my goals as a mentor. I’m confident that my contribution will be a worthy and notable addition to any faculty and I'm very excited for an opportunity to return to teaching in a collegiate environment.
